KPKT PREPARES ACTION PLAN FOR THE RECOVERY AND RECONSTRUCTION OF THE HOUSES OF VICTIMS OF THE PUTRA HEIGHTS INCIDENT

Today's Cabinet meeting paid serious attention to fire incident that occurred in Putra Heights, Selangor on 1 April 2025.

Various forms of assistance have been channeled to the victims of this incident from the MADANI Government and the Selangor State Government. The assistance includes cash assistance, transit house rental assistance, free car rentals, and so on.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is focusing primarily on the recovery and reconstruction initiatives for houses affected by the fire.

In this regard, last week, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development established a Special Task Force consisting of all agencies under its ministry, especially the implementing agencies, namely Syarikat Perumahan Nasional Berhad (SPNB) and Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA).

The task force has produced an action plan to repair and rebuild the homes of victims affected by the fire. The action plan was submitted to YAB Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today.

The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources today also announced an allocation of RM2 million to the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) to repair public infrastructure in disaster areas.

At the same time, the National Solid Waste Management Department (JPSPN) and the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp) will provide full assistance to the Selangor State Government for cleanup work in the disaster area. The cleanup work will be carried out by both agencies on 12 and 13 April 2025.
