All applications must be sent using an official company/Agency letter to the Director General, Fire and Rescue Department, Malaysia.
Once the company's application is received and approved for a briefing and demonstration, the Planning and Research Division will assess the suitability of the relevant product and will contact the company to set a suitable briefing date.

Yes, the certificate needs to be renewed every year. This is because the certificates issued have a maximum validity period of 2 years only.

1. Official application letter from the company;
2. Completed and signed RNP-PKK 1 Application Form (Amendment 2020);
3. Copy of the latest Test Report from a recognized laboratory such as SIRIM or Foreign Certification Body;
– Any test report obtained from abroad must be certified by the local Commissioner of Oaths and submitted with Form AM80;
4. Product Quality Control Certificate such as SIRIM or Foreign Certification Body;
– Any test report obtained from abroad must be certified by the local Commissioner of Oaths and submitted with Form AM80
5. Certificate or Letter of Appointment as an authorized distributor;
– Any letter or certificate obtained from abroad must be certified by the local Commissioner of Oaths and submitted with Form AM80
6. Latest Company Profile;
7. Latest product brochures/leaflets/catalogs;
8. Samples of the requested product must be sent;
(The brand, model and company name must be placed on the product sent. The products sent will not be returned to the applicant)
9. Special Form (Halon Alternative) – For new applications for Suppression System products;
10. Test Report for the latest Toxicity Test (Halon Alternative);

The Fire Research Centre (PUSPEK) has 2 Fire Laboratories, a Chemistry Laboratory, a Fabric Laboratory, a Library, a Malaysian Halon Bank, a Cafeteria, a Seminar Room and a Transit Room.
The research instruments available at the Fire Research Center (PUSPEK) are: Hydrostatic Test Facility, Room Corner Test, Dual Cone Caloriemeter, Halon Recycle Machine, Fire Resistance Test Furnace, Cardiopulmonary Exercise Training (CPET), Fire Suppression Room and other instruments.
The Fire Research Center (PUSPEK) has carried out tests such as Fabric Tests, Fire Tests, Fire Suppression for Clean Agent, Vacuum Test for Suction Hose, Hydrostatic test for Hose and Breathing Apparatus Cylinder, Heat Release Heat, Flash Point, Fire Point, Hydrogen Index Test, Cardiopulmonary Exercise Training.
