Issuance of JBPM Business License Support Letter
ISSUE OF BUSINESS LICENSE SUPPORT LETTER
FIRE AND RESCUE DEPARTMENT OF MALAYSIA
The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department is one of the departments involved in issuing business license support letters. The JBPM business license support letter is a supporting document required by licensing agencies before a business license is issued.
Applications for the issuance of a JBPM business license support letter can be made through license issuing agencies or bring a cover letter from the license issuing agencies when making an application at JBPM Zone Office. Business License Support Application Form can be downloaded and must be filled out completely before applying.
Next, upon receiving the application, the JBPM will conduct an inspection of the premises in question. The inspection is intended to ensure that the premises have not been modified and to ensure that there is no fire hazard. A letter of support or disapproval will be issued based on the results of the inspection. The issuance of a business license support letter is a one-time only and cannot be renewed.
Based on current requirements, there are several business categories that are excluded from JBPM business license support as shown in the table below:

All types of shop categories according to the Fifth Schedule, UKBS, 1984 which operate on the ground floor (ground floor) and have a total floor area not exceeding 750 square metres. For example, retail shops, food/beverage shops, car workshops, laundry shops, accessories shops, hair salons, stationery shops, school canteens. All types of office categories operating from ground level (ground floor) to 4th floor (for premises with a height not exceeding 12 metres from ground level to the highest occupied floor) and a total floor area not exceeding 1,000 square metres. Restaurant or shop premises of a certain type are single-storey and do not exceed 750 square metres. Other Categories Billboard / Billboard / Signboard Temporary Business / Small Stall / Mobile Temporary offices (cabins) such as used vehicle sales offices and nurseries. | The premises have a valid Fire Certificate issued by JBPM (Business lot operating at "designated premises") The premises have a Certificate of Fitness for Occupancy (CFO) or Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC), Not making any amendments or modifications to the approved premises such as the approval of the original plan (Building plan) For other categories, installation/construction must not interfere with/obstruct the installation of fire equipment such as fire hydrants, access to fire engines, etc. | |
