Application for Plan Certification and Building Inspection for Small-Scale Development Proposals
APPLICATION FOR BUILDING PLAN AND MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL PLAN CERTIFICATE
All applications for building plan and mechanical & electrical plan certificates must be submitted through the Local Authority (LA) One Stop Centre (OSC) where the project is being constructed. Consultants may refer to the Processing Category Table to submit applications to the relevant OSC.
Consultants must submit a formal application letter and adhere to the Checklist for Submitting Technical Plans (building plans and M&E plans) when submitting the plans. Both plans will then be distributed by OSC to the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) in accordance with the Processing Category Schedule.
JBPM will provide a comment within 7 days from the date of receipt to the PBT and subsequently issue a clearance letter.
BUILDING INSPECTION APPLICATION FOR THE ISSUANCE OF A JBPM RELEASE LETTER CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION AND COMPLIANCE (CCC)
Building inspection applications for the issuance of a JBPM Clearance Letter must be submitted through the Local Authority (PBT) One-Stop Centre (OSC) where the project is being built. The inspection application must comply with and attach the Fire Safety Inspection Application Checklist Form along with the required documents.
The inspection fee must be included when submitting the inspection application. Payment can be made via money order or bank draft or cheque must be made out to the Director General of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department.
The inspection application will be forwarded by the OSC to JBPM according to the Processing Category Schedule to determine the inspection date. The inspection will be carried out within seven days after the clearance letter from Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and the Water Authority is issued. The JBPM Clearance Letter will be issued to the applicant on the same day the inspection is carried out.
Note: Inspections for residential buildings not exceeding 18 metres in height are exempted.
