KOTA BHARU: The Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) has deployed five members of the Northeast Monsoon Red Team to flood-risk locations to assist in rescue operations.
Its director, Zainal Madasin, said the special team members had skills in their respective fields, including Water Rescue (PPDA) and Hazardous Chemicals (Hazmat) tasks.
He said the team carried out their tasks based on their respective skills to assist the Kelantan JBPM in meeting the deadline for action in flood management.
"The members of this team were specially brought in from the Putrajaya Fire and Rescue Department Headquarters and other states.
"With the deployment of this team, we hope the rescue task will be smoother," he told reporters after officiating the Table Top Simulation and Disaster Management Exercise in Lembah Sireh, here today.
Zainal said his party is also focusing on flooded areas in case of a fire.
